FREE SCREENING PRESENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ANU STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION IN CELEBRATION OF BUSH WEEK 2022

Everyone’s favourite yellow pill-shaped creatures are back! The fifth film in the Despicable Me franchise finds us in the 1970s, with 12-year-old budding supervillain Gru (Steve Carrell) growing up in the suburbs with the aid of his loyal Minions, hatching a plan to join the infamous supervillain group known the Vicious Six.

After the firing of leader Wild Knuckles (Alan Arkin) leads to an opening in the group, Gru jumps at a chance to interview for a position – which does not go well, to put it mildly. Chaos ensues with the stealing of a precious gem, resulting in Gru and the Minions going on the run from the Vicious Six.

A fun cast – Taraji P. Henson, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Lucy Lawless, Dolph Lundgren and Danny Trejo – round out the voice cast, making this toe-tapping retro adventure a blast.
