In the 1950s, Alice (Florence Pugh) and Jack (Harry Styles) are a handsome, young couple living in Victory, an idyllic company town built in the middle of the Californian desert. While their husbands are working on a top-secret project, the women cook, clean, shop, and dance their time away. But when cracks begin to appear in her life’s flawless facade, Alice begins to suspect there is something deeply wrong with their little desert utopia and its charming founder, Frank (Chris Pine).
Switching gears from Booksmart, her 2019 critically-acclaimed, goofy high school comedy debut, Olivia Wilde’s second feature film is a highly stylised psychological thriller that takes inspiration from Stepford Wives and The Truman Show. Despite its production being rumour-clad and awash with controversy, Don’t Worry Darling is sleek, sexy, and very creepy film. Come and see what the drama is all about.
