Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods – and then imprisoned just as quickly after using the powers to avenge the death of his son – Black Adam (Dwayne Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb. When he begins unleashing his unique form of justice on modern society, he finds himself challenged by the heroes of the Justice Society of America – including Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo) and Dr. Fate (Pierce Brosnan) – who must convince him to use his powers to save the world, not destroy it.

In the decades since making his first comic book appearance in 1945, Black Adam has gone on to become an important part of the DC Universe. As the ultimate anti-hero whose goals are always noble, even if his methods may be questionable, this action epic offers a much-needed breath of fresh air for DC’s cinematic universe.
