It's 1953, and Agatha Christie’s hit play The Mousetrap has just notched up its 100th performance on London’s West End. Celebrations at a party to commemorate the milestone come to an abrupt halt, however, after a shocking discovery: Hollywood film director Leo Köpernick (Adrien Brody), who was hired to shoot a film adaptation of the play, has been murdered.

Soon, cynical Inspector Stoppard (Sam Rockwell) and eager rookie Constable Stalker (Saoirse Ronan) are on the scene and tasked with finding the killer amongst the cream of the British theatre scene. But they soon discover that Köpernick wasn’t the killer’s only target, and as the casualty rate begins to mount, our detective duo might just struggle to keep up.

Led by terrific performances from Rockwell and Ronan, See How They Run is a puzzling whodunit and murder mystery farce all wrapped into one entertaining package packed with laughs, style and a quality cast.

Amsterdam tells the story of three friends – a doctor (Christian Bale), a lawyer (John David Washington) and a nurse (Margot Robbie) – who find themselves in Amsterdam just before WWII. They witness a murder, become the prime suspects, and then, while attempting to solve it, uncover one of the most outrageous plots in American history.

Partly based on a true story, it features quite possibly the most stellar cast ever assembled in a film, including Rami Malek, Chris Rock, Mike Myers, Anya Taylor-Joy, Michael Shannon, Taylor Swift and Robert De Niro, amongst many others. Written, produced and directed by the acclaimed David O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle), it was also shot by Emmanuel Lubezki, the only cinematographer ever to win three Oscars in a row.

Weaving historical fact with fiction, Amsterdam tells a fascinating and richly intricate tale – which is also just plain good fun.
