In the South Korean city of Busan, detective Hae-Joon (Park Hae-il) finds his mundane existence electrified by a puzzling new case of a man found dead at the bottom of a mountain. Did he fall? Did he take his own life? Or did someone push him to his death?

Hae-Joon soon visits – and is instantly captivated by – the dead man’s beautiful wife, Seo-rae (Tang Wei).
