Mild-mannered Chinese-American immigrant Evelyn (Michelle Yeoh) runs a struggling laundromat with her husband, Waymond (Ke Huy Quan). During a meeting with a tax auditor (Jamie Lee Curtis), Evelyn’s world suddenly fractures and she discovers that she must ‘verse-jump’ into the lives of her parallel universe counterparts – from a movie star to opera singer to one with sausages for fingers – to save them all from a powerful being. As profound as it is profane, this metaphysical epic must be seen to be believed.
