Marcel (voiced by Jenny Slate) is an adorable one-inch-tall shell who ekes out a colourful existence with his grandmother and their pet lint. Once part of a sprawling community, they now live alone after being left behind in a mysterious exodus. But when a documentary filmmaker discovers them amongst the clutter of his Airbnb, the short film he posts online brings Marcel millions of passionate fans – as well as new hope at finding his long-lost family.

In 1923, on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland, Padraic (Colin Farrell) and Colm (Brendan Gleeson) find themselves at an impasse when Colm unexpectedly puts an end to their lifelong friendship.

Refusing to take no for an answer, a stunned Padraic endeavours to repair the relationship, despite better judgement from his sister, Siobhan (Kerry Condon), and troubled local youngster Dominic (Barry Keoghan).
