In 2010, the women of Manitoba Colony, an isolated Mennonite colony in Bolivia, discover a shocking secret: the men in their community have drugged and raped its women at night for many years, sometimes resulting in pregnancy. As they grapple with reconciling their faith with their predicament, eight of the women (including Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, Jessie Buckley and Frances McDormand) find themselves forced to make a seemingly impossible choice: to do nothing, stay and fight, or leave.
Based on true events and sensitively, not sensationally, directed by actor-turned-director Sarah Polley, this is a film bound to have you talking.
2023 Oscar winner for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Inspired by the 1985 true story of a drug runner’s plane crash, missing cocaine, and the black bear that ate it, this insane dark comedy finds an oddball group of cops, criminals, tourists and teens converging in a Georgia forest where a 500-pound apex predator has ingested a staggering amount of coke and goes on a drug-fuelled rampage.
Directed by Elizabeth Banks and with a terrific cast including the late Ray Liotta in one of his final roles, this berserk romp of a film wastes no time in giving you what its title promises. What more could you want?
