Beth (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) is a New York-based novelist who has been working for years on the follow-up to her moderately successful memoir. She shares countless drafts of her work-in-progress with her approving, supporting husband, Don (Tobias Menzies), on whom she relies for honest, constructive feedback. But her whole world quickly unravels when she overhears Don admitting to her brother-in-law that he doesn’t actually like her new book. Will this act of betrayal be enough to undo their decades of loving marriage?
The latest dramedy from American indie director Nicole Holofcener (Enough Said, also starring Louis-Dreyfus) is as perceptively clever and sharply funny as ever.
