32-year-old Maddie (Jennifer Lawrence) is a cash-poor woman whose job as an Uber driver – and subsequently, her home – is jeopardised when her car is towed. To secure a new vehicle, she makes an agreement with a wealthy couple (Matthew Broderick, Laura Benanti) to “date” their introverted and awkward 19-year-old son, Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman). But bringinf Percy out of his sexually reclusive shell before he heads off to college turns out to be far harder than Maddie anticipated, and it quickly appears that they both have a lot to learn from each other.
Despite its raunchy exterior, No Hard Feelings actually has a squishy, soft centre: it’s an unexpectedly heartwarming tale of friendship, and what it means to grow up. Despite the oft-acknowledged age difference between their characters, Lawrence and Feldman’s chemistry carry the film – with the Oscar-winning actress letting loose like never before
