While investigating an anomalous wormhole in outer space that could hold the key to an increasingly destabilised universe, Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) finds her powers entangled with those of teenage superfan Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), the estranged daughter of her late best friend. With every use of their powers resulting in a highly inconvenient cosmic body swap, the unlikely trio must find a way to work together to save the universe – whether they like it or not.

The Marvels is the 33rd film in the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe, which serves as both a sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel and a continuation of the events that took place in the recent Disney+ shows, Ms. Marvel and WandaVision. Not to worry if you aren’t fully caught up, however, as the film will provide plenty of background for audiences.
