The relationship between Gracie (Julianne Moore) and Joe (Charles Melton) began in notorious circumstances two decades earlier when she was a married woman in her 30s and he was just 13 years old. Against all odds, including a prison stint for Gracie, their relationship survived. But when Hollywood actress Elizabeth Berry (Natalie Portman) arrives at their family home conducting research to play Gracie in a film about the scandal, she sets out to fully immerse herself in their lives, forcing them to confront their past whether they like it or not.

Julianne Moore and Natalie Portman make for a powerhouse pairing as the two acting titans play slyly manipulative woman who will do whatever it takes to get what they want. Together, they elevate this melodramatic and darkly campy film from director Todd Haynes (Carol, Far From Heaven).
