Michael Gudinski was an impresario and natural-born hustler who repeatedly risked everything for his one obsession: Australian music. At age 19, he launched Mushroom Records and went on to sign and nurture iconic local artists including Jimmy Barnes, Paul Kelly, Kylie Minogue and Archie Roach. Not content with just running a record label, his hunger extended to being on the road promoting legendary international acts such as Foo Fighters, Ed Sheeran, Bruce Springsteen and Sting.
Famed for his eccentricities and boldness, this fascinating documentary dives into Gudinski’s unorthodox tactics as he forges his own maverick path over the course of five decades. Featuring personal accounts from Gudinski himself, interviews with the some of the world's most influential artists, rare archival footage and, of course, an electrifying soundtrack.

In 2001, American Samoa lost 31–0 to Australia in what became the worst loss in international soccer history, a defeat which has dogged them ever since. Years later, in an attempt to turn their luck around, Tavita (Oscar Kightley), the head of the Football Federation of American Samoa (one of many jobs he holds on the island), hires troubled Dutch-born coach Thomas Rongen (Michael Fassbender) to coach the team. With no expectation of actually winning, Rongen’s mandate is simply to get the team good enough to score just one goal in a professional match. How hard can it be?
With its small-town setting and mostly indigenous cast, Next Goal Wins is a heartfelt underdog sports comedy which is perfectly complimented by Kiwi director Taika Waititi’s (Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Jojo Rabbit) signature brand of humour.
