PRESENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE EMBASSY OF SPAIN
For as long as they can remember, the Solé family have spent every summer together picking the peaches from their orchard in the small Spanish village of Alcarràs. But after their landlord dies and his heir decides to replace the orchard with solar panels, the tight-knit family must face the loss of not just their crop, but their entire way of life, and soon find themselves at odds over their uncertain future.
Inspired by writer-director Carla Simón’s own family story, and featuring an ensemble cast of non-professional actors, this is an authentic and moving story about the importance of family relationships and the battle between tradition and change. Winner of the Golden Bear for Best Film at the Berlin Film Festival in 2022.
