Cassandra “Cassie” Webb (Dakota Johnson) is a New York paramedic who suddenly finds herself plagued by disturbing visions of the future. More precisely, her visions feature three young women – Julia (Sydney Sweeney), Anya (Isabel Merced) and Mattie (Celeste O’Connor) – meeting a violent end at the hands of a black-clad, Spider-Man-like adversary (Tahar Rahim). In an attempt to save them from their fates, Cassie sets out to find the three women in the present and soon discovers the tangled web that connects them all.

Based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name and taking place in Sony’s extended Spider-Man cinematic universe, this reality-bending superhero flick shifts the focus onto a number of supporting characters from the webslinger’s world, while drawing upon familiar lore.
