After 35 years of faithful service, Milanese police lieutenant Franco Amore (Pierfrancesco Favino) is about to retire from the force, having never even fired his gun. But on his final night on the job, his entire world gets turned upside when his best friend and colleague (Francesco Di Leva) is found dead on a highway after an apparent shootout. As Franco investigates the perplexing crime scene, he quickly realises he may be in over his head. And could his young new wife (Linda Caridi) be involved somehow?

This twisty, stylish thriller was one of the biggest hits at the Italian box office last year, with writer-director Andrea Di Stefano elevating the crime procedural’s genre trappings with a deft dose of classic film noir, emotional heft and superb craftwork.
