Based on the beloved and long-running Broadway musical, director Jon M. Chu’s stunning film adaptation dives into the early lives of Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Galinda (Ariana Grande), two young women from very different worlds. When they cross paths at Shiz University in the magical land of Oz, they form an unlikely yet transformative friendship which goes on to define their destinies.

Erivo perfectly embodies the misunderstood green-skinned Elphaba with a powerful, nuanced performance, while Grande shines as Glinda, effortlessly balancing comedic charm and physicality with moments of surprising depth. And needless to say, both ladies can really, really sing.

A dazzling, emotional spectacle that captures the magic of the iconic musical while carving out its own cinematic identity, Wicked is a magical experience – even if it only tells the first half of the story.

Nominated for 10 Oscars in 2025, including Best Picture, Best Actress (Erivo) and Best Supporting Actress (Grande).
