Celebrate Indian film culture with five nights of free films representing India's diverse people and languages in the ANU Film Group's inaugural Indian Film Festival. Presented in partnership with the Indian High Commission in Australia.

Boomba (Indrajeet Pegu) is a bright eight-year-old boy living with his mother (Dipali Pegu), who struggles to make ends meet after the death of her husband. In hopes of a better future, she sends Boomba to the local school, unaware that he is to be their one and only student. Keen to retain their government funding, the school's corrupt principal and sole teacher bend over backwards to accommodate Boomba's every whim – until the unexpected arrival of an education inspector forces them to improvise.

Inspired by true events and featuring a cast of non-professional actors speaking in their native Mising dialect, Boomba Ride is a charming Assamese film that explores the state – and importance – of rural education through winning comic satire.
