Aided by a stacked cast of humans including Hugh Bonneville, Jim Broadbent, Olivia Colman and Antonio Banderas, Paddington in Peru has more humour, heart and adventure than you can fit in a marmalade sandwich. It may not reach the heights of the first two films but remains a joyful continuation of the beloved bear’s cinematic adventures.

Lee tells the extraordinary story of Elizabeth “Lee” Miller (Kate Winslet), a former model who defied convention to become a groundbreaking war correspondent for Vogue during World War II. Miller faces constant sexism as her journey takes her from the fashion world to the frontlines of Europe, but her determination to document the war through her lens captured the brutal reality of war in a way no one else could.

Having spent eight years getting this passion project made, Winslet delivers a striking performance embodying Miller’s complexities: confident, vulnerable, grumpy, and magnetic. While some biopic storytelling tropes may feel familiar, this is a well-made tribute to a pioneering woman whose work left an indelible mark on history.
