A loose adaptation of William S. Burroughs’ novella, Queer is a sensual, melancholy exploration of infatuation and the complex nature of desire. In other words, it’s precisely what you’d expect from Italian director Luca Guadagnino (Challengers, Call Me By Your Name). Though its narrative does become meandering, Craig’s mesmerising performance make for a compelling, emotionally resonant experience.
