Luis (Sergi López) is a desperate father who travels to the vast deserts of southern Morocco in search of his missing daughter. Accompanied by his young son (Bruno Núñez), he follows a lead that takes them into the heart of a massive, clandestine desert rave. To navigate this alien landscape of pounding music and nomadic revellers, Luis joins forces with a group of European ravers who are searching for the ultimate sensory experience. As they trek across the dunes, the search for the girl becomes a spiritual journey for Luis, as he is forced to confront his own failures and find beauty in the chaos of the desert.

Equal parts unpredictable road movie and haunting family drama, Sirāt won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. The film has been especially heralded for its audacious cinematography and earth-shaking sound design – for which it secured a well-deserved Oscar nomination for Best Sound, alongside a nod for Best International Feature Film for Spain.
