Don (Prince Poetiray) is a ten-year-old orphan who often feels isolated due to his large physical stature and the bullying he faces from peers. He finds solace in a magical storybook left behind by his late parents, using its vibrant illustrations to fuel his imagination. When his book is stolen, Don’s world crumbles until he meets Meri (Graciella Abigail), a mysterious fairy who is also searching for her lost family. Together with his loyal friends, Don embarks on a quest that helps him discover that his perceived weaknesses are actually his greatest strengths.

This heartwarming Indonesian animated film broke domestic box office records upon release in 2025, ultimately becoming a cultural phenomenon for its positive and sensitively-handled messages about bullying and diversity. Critics have lauded Jumbo's vibrant animation style and its ability to weave local folklore into a modern, globally accessible narrative – leaving the film standing tall as a testament to the growing creative power of the Southeast Asian film industry.

This moving biographical drama tells the true story of John Davidson (Robert Aramayo), a Scotsman living with Tourette syndrome in the 1980s. Growing up in an era of immense social stigma, John faces constant misunderstanding and isolation. Supported by his resilient mother (Shirley Henderson) and father (Peter Mullan), the film follows John’s difficult path from a bullied youth to a celebrated advocate, showing how he eventually finds his voice and helps thousands of others find theirs.

I Swear is both a heart-wrenching look at past prejudices and an uplifting celebration of human resilience, offering a frank and unsentimental portrayal of disability that blends humour with genuine emotional weight. And it does so thanks to a stunning, transformative performance by Robert Aramayo, who has already won a BAFTA for Best Actor in a Leading Role and has been tipped as a strong contender for next year's Oscars too.
