A lot has changed since the Scary Movie series first hit screens in the early 2000s. We now live in a world where 'elevated horror' films like Sinners, Weapons, The Substance, Get Out and more are topping the box office and taking home Oscars too, providing fertile comedic ground for the long-dormant spoof franchise's resurrection.

This sixth entry sees Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris) and her now-estranged best friend Brenda (Regina Hall) leading a cast of new faces and fan favourites as they are ensnared in a series of increasingly absurd supernatural events that lampoon recent genre hits. From the creepy rituals of cult-themed dramas to the jump-scares of modern slasher reboots, no trope is safe from the biting wit of our protagonists.

Directed by Michael Tiddes and also featuring the return of original creators, Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory Wayans, this highly-anticipated reboot is a nostalgic callback to the irreverent humour that defined the early 2000s and made the original such a global cultural phenomenon.
