With June coming to a close, we’re now on the home stretch of our Semester One programme, with only three more weeks of screenings to go. But don’t miss us too much – because Semester Two will kick off just two days later on MONDAY 17 JULY at 7:30 PM with TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT!
Feeling guilty about paying to see Michael Bay’s latest robot romp? Now you don’t have to because this screening will be FREE for all to attend. So invite everyone you know – friends, family, neighbours, passersby – to kick off our new programme with a bang (lots of them, to be precise).
And if that’s not enough, our full Semester Two programme will be released NEXT FRIDAY (July 7) so stay tuned to find out all about the other 94 films on our brand new programme. If you can’t wait that long, keep an eye on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/ANUFG) over the next few days for a sneak peek.

WHAT’S ON THIS WEEK
................................................................
This week you can come along to the Australian premiere screening of Estonia’s entry for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar category. Or you can see a guilty pleasure double feature of ‘90s TV shows rebooted for the big screen. Or all of the above – because that’s the beauty of the ANU Film Group!
• Fri 30 June @ 7:30 PM: MOTHER (EMA)
This darkly comic crime mystery set in small-town Estonia centres on Elsa, the mother and full time caretaker of her son, Lauri, who has been in a coma since being shot under shadowy circumstances. As Elsa receives Lauri's visitors and friends, she begins to build up a web of motives where everyone is a suspect.
** Presented in partnership with the Embassy of Estonia**
• Sat 1 July @ **7 PM**: BAYWATCH + POWER RANGERS
The sun is hot and the bodies are hotter in BAYWATCH, the action-packed big screen adaptation of the popular TV series. Devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchannon (Dwayne Johnson) butts heads with a brash new recruit (Zac Efron), as they uncover a deadly criminal plot that threatens California’s beaches.
Then, it’s go go POWER RANGERS time (at approx. 9 PM) when five troubled teenage outcasts stumble upon an old alien ship and acquire superpowers. When they discover that their world is being threatened by an ancient alien queen, they must harness their newfound abilities and work together as a team to defeat her.
