Spider-Man does whatever a spider can at the ANU Film Group this week! Plus, don’t miss two of the coolest films of a year in one killer double feature, Jessica Chastain in a Holocaust drama, Richard Gere playing politics, and Scarlett Johansson in a girls’ night out gone wrong.

Norman (Richard Gere) is a con artist who befriends a young politician at a low point in his life. Years later, when the politician becomes Prime Minister of Israel, Norman finds his life dramatically changing – for better or for worse.

Jessica Chastain stars in this true story of a husband and wife pair of Warsaw zookeepers who saved hundreds of human and animal lives by hiding them in animal cages during the Nazi invasion of Poland during World War II.

• Fri 18 Aug @ 7:30 PM: BABY DRIVER + FREE FIRE

In BABY DRIVER, when he meets the girl of his dreams, a young getaway driver sees a chance to make a new life for himself but is coerced into taking on ‘one last job’ in this highly acclaimed heist/action film from director Edgar Wright.

Then, in FREE FIRE (at approx. 9:30 PM), a group of arms dealers meet members of the IRA in an abandoned warehouse to sell them machine guns. But a disagreement turns the deal into a full-on shootout between the two parties.

• Sat 19 Aug @ **7 PM**: SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING + ROUGH NIGHT

In SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING, Peter Parker finds life as a high school student boring after having gotten a taste of the hero life. But when a new villain emerges, Peter finds himself desperate to prove himself worthy of being a hero.

Then, in ROUGH NIGHT (at approx. 9:15 PM), five best friends reunite for a wild bachelorette weekend in Miami. But their hard partying takes a dark turn when they accidentally kill a male stripper and are forced to cover up his death.
