Tickets for our seventh annual Trivia Night go on sale from this week, as we also kick off our special series of Retro Revival screenings with THE WIZARD OF OZ and KING KONG on Friday! More details below, but first, here’s what’s on this week:
• Thu 1 Aug @ 8 PM: THE LONE RANGER
A Native American warrior (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed a man of the law into the legend of justice known as The Lone Ranger (Armie Hammer).
• Fri 2 AUG @ 8 PM: THE WIZARD OF OZ followed by KING KONG (1933)
The first in our Retro Revivals series takes us 80 years back in time to the 1930s to the start of Hollywood’s Golden Age for two of the most influential and iconic films ever made!
In 1939’s THE WIZARD OF OZ, a young girl by the name of Dorothy (Judy Garland) is swept away to the magical land of Oz and embarks on a quest to find a wizard to help her return home.
Then, in 1933’s KING KONG, a film crew goes to a tropical island for an exotic location shoot and discovers a gigantic beast who falls for their female star.
• Sat 3 AUG @ 8 PM: STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS followed by KON-TIKI (2012)
In STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS, after Starfleet is attacked, Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) leads the crew of the Enterprise on a manhunt to capture a one-man weapon of mass destruction.
Then, venture on a journey of a different kind with KON-TIKI, the true story of a Norwegian explorer’s crossing of the Pacific Ocean on a wooden raft in an effort to prove a scientific theory.
