SCREENING CHANGES: THE DEEP BLUE SEA + THE BLING RING
................................................................
Due to print availability issues, we regret to inform you that two of our upcoming October screenings will no longer be going forward as planned.
THE DEEP BLUE SEA was originally scheduled as the second feature following WORLD WAR Z, starting at approximately 9 PM on Saturday 5 October. This will now be replaced by the Australian-German war film LORE, directed by Cate Shortland, which was Australia’s entry for Best Foreign Language Film at last year’s Oscars.
LORE takes place in southwest Germany immediately following the end of WWII, and follows five destitute siblings who embark on a 900-kilometre journey to their grandmother’s house after their Nazi parents disappear in the face of certain arrest by the Allied Forces.
THE BLING RING was originally scheduled as a standalone feature on Tuesday 15 October at 8 PM. This will now be replaced by BEHIND THE CANDELABRA, director Steven Soderbergh's Liberace biopic starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, and is currently nominated for 15 Primetime Emmy Awards, to be awarded later this month.
BEHIND THE CANDELABRA chronicles the last ten years of flamboyant entertainer Liberace’s (Douglas) life, and his secret and tempestuous affair with a much younger man (Damon). Also starring Dan Aykroyd and Rob Lowe.
We apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment caused by these changes, and hope that you will be able to make it along to the new additions to our programme.
