‘MARY POPPINS’: 50TH ANNIVERSARY RESTORATION SCREENING
................................................................
In addition to giving us access to a whole range of new release films we otherwise wouldn’t have been able to screen, our new digital projector also enables us to revisit film classics unlike ever before.
One such example is this Saturday’s screening of MARY POPPINS, which we will be screening in its fully restored glory in celebration of its 50th anniversary this year. The film underwent a meticulous digital and photochemical restoration from its original camera negatives and the ANU Film Group has the proud honour of putting on one of first Australian screenings of this restored version of the film.
So whether you’ve seen it a hundred times, or never before, you won’t want to miss seeing this supercalifragilisticexpialidocious classic, stunningly restored and on the big screen this Saturday.
MARY POPPINS screens as the second feature following SAVING MR. BANKS -- the heart-warming tale of the beloved classic’s making, starring Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson -- at approximately 9:15 PM.
