A father (Bruce Dern) takes a cross-country trip with his estranged son (Will Forte) in order to claim a million-dollar prize in the latest film from Alexander Payne (THE DESCENDANTS, SIDEWAYS). Nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
• Thu 3 Apr @ 7:30 PM: THE BOOK THIEF
Amidst the horrors of WWII Germany, a young girl (Sophie Nélisse) finds solace by stealing books and sharing them with others, including a Jewish refugee who is being sheltered by her adoptive parents (Geoffrey Rush, Emily Watson) in their basement.
• Fri 4 Apr @ 7:30 PM: HER followed by ROBOCOP
Nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, HER is the story of a lonely writer (Joaquin Phoenix) who develops an unlikely relationship with an artificially intelligent operating system that’s designed to meet his every need. Also starring Scarlett Johansson and Amy Adams.
Then, in ROBOCOP (at approx. 9:45 PM), when a police officer (Joel Kinnaman) is critically injured, a technology conglomerate seizes the opportunity to create a protector that is part-man, part-robot. Also starring Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Keaton.
• Sat 5 Apr @ **7 PM**: CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS 2 followed by KILL YOUR DARLINGS
In CLOUDY WITH CHANCE OF MEATBALLS 2, brilliant scientist Flint Lockwood discovers that his most infamous invention -- a machine that turns water into food -- is still operational and is now churning out menacing food-animal hybrids that threaten to take over the world.
Then, in KILL YOUR DARLINGS (at approx. 8:45 PM), three poets are drawn together by a tragic event, leading them to explore bold new ideas that would challenge the sensibilities of their time and forever change their lives. Starring Daniel Radcliffe and Dane DeHaan.
